The former site of the Victorian Railway Workshops, Spotswood Yards is being transformed into a world class precinct by Blue Earth which will be the Inner West’s most significant land transformation to date. In keeping with the history of the site, we worked with the railway theme for design and naming convention. Introducing ‘Flagman’ the hand signaller controlling traffic, keeping everyone safe and welcoming trains into the station.

Spotswood Yards was originally the Victorian Railway Workshops complex. Spotswood’s industrial & manufacturing history inspires an innovative and creative suburb. The area has carried it’s history of making things through to its cultural & community identity today.
A rail worker/hand signaller who controls rail traffic movements welcoming the trains back home. The name is also a nod to the building footprint shape similar to a flag. Drawing from the stipple effect of historical printed images we created a brand that would stand alone as well as belong to the suite of Spotswood Yard brands.
