METHOD-OLOGY

The former site of the Victorian Railway Workshops, Spotswood Yards is being transformed into a world class precinct by Blue Earth which will be the Inner West’s most significant land transformation to date. In keeping with the history of the site, we worked with the railway theme for design and naming convention. Introducing ‘Signal House’ named after the control centre from which trains are safely directed and coordinated whilst providing a vantage point for observation of the surrounding area.

A thriving suburb with an old soul

Spotswood Yards was originally the Victorian Railway Workshops complex. Spotswood’s industrial & manufacturing history inspires an innovative and creative suburb. The area has carried it’s history of making things through to its cultural & community identity today.

Signal House

Named after the control centre from which trains are safely directed and coordinated it seemed fitting to draw our visual inspiration from the old fashioned railway semaphore signals. Drawing on the basic shapes and graphic nature of the old signals Ology injected sophistication with a desaturated yet playful colour palette and premium touch of gold detail.
